This report covers a selection of crimes reported from July 23 to July 28 as recorded in the Stanford Police Department Public Bulletin.
A series of bike thefts were reported during this time.
July 27
At Roth Way and Campus Drive between 9:30 and 11 p.m., an unknown suspect broke into a car via the passenger-side window and stole a GPS system.
July 26
At Campus Drive and Mayfield at 3:30 p.m., a vehicle-on-vehicle-on-vehicle collision occurred, but there were no injuries.
July 25
At 3:05 p.m., an unknown patron at Green Library made verbal threats to physically harm another person and violated library etiquette by using their outside voice.
Outside of the Packard Electrical Engineering building’s shipping and receiving area, a golf cart was stolen at 5:10 a.m.
July 24
At 4:05 p.m., a vehicle-on-vehicle collision occurred on Santa Teresa Street, with no injuries.
At 2:17 p.m. at Junipero Serra and Santa Maria, a bicycle-versus-vehicle collision occurred, causing an injury.
Between 6 p.m. on July 23 and 8 a.m. on July 24, a failed burglary attempt occurred at the Gates Computer Science building, where unknown suspects attempted to pry open the door to the student study laboratory.
In a crime reported on July 24, an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle at 5 Comstock Circle and stole a digital camera, between 11 p.m. on July 5 and noon on July 6.
July 23
Between 10:30 and 11 p.m., an unknown and presumably bored suspect at Coronado Way and Salvatierra ignited several yard waste debris piles.
At 9:45 p.m., a bicycle collided with a fixed object at Santa Teresa Street west of Duena, resulting in injury and defeat.
Between 4 and 6:30 p.m. at the Lokey Chemical Biology building, an unknown suspect stole a laptop from a victim’s desk.
At 11:10 a.m. at the Center for Integrated Systems, a juvenile was cited and released for riding a skateboard in a restricted area, as the juvenile had been admonished earlier in the day for the same activity. A parent was notified.
