Donald Rumsfeld will be joining the Hoover Institution as a distinguished visiting fellow, the University announced Sept. 7. Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana ‘07 left a lasting imprint on the Stanford women’s golf team. The biological sciences graduate played in 44 events for the Cardinal over her four year career and was named a captain on last year’s squad. In addition to her collegiate accolades, Tangtiphaiboontana represented the U.S. in August’s World University Games in Bankok, Thailand.

The lowly San Jose State Spartans (0-3) were just what the doctor ordered: Stanford (1-1) claimed its first win in 308 days — its first in the new stadium and its first under rookie Coach Jim Harbaugh on Saturday night. The 37-0 thrashing was the first shutout win for the Cardinal since 1996.

Living in an all-freshman dorm is the best and worst thing that will ever happen to you. It’s summer camp with booze and video games and friends with benefits; it’s also boarding school with a few hundred extra rules and regulations.
