SPORTS| Stanford wrestling may not have broken its 74-year conference title drought this past weekend at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships in Bakersfield, Calif., but Kerry McCoy’s team nevertheless made significant progress in his second year as the Cardinal’s head coach.

Card storms Sunshine State

SPORTS| It was a must-win tourney in Miami, Fla. for the No. 8 Stanford softball team, and the Cardinal delivered with a perfect 5-0 record, capturing the FIU/Adidas Invitational title. Pitching made the difference for Stanford, as the team extended its season-high win streak to 11 games.

Polo beats Bruins for top spot

SPORTS| McColl recorded a season-high 14 saves in the Cardinal’s 10-8 semifinal win over the No. 3 Women of Troy. She then tallied 12 more in the evening finale against UCLA, including six in the second half, as Stanford dealt the top-ranked and defending national champion Bruins their first loss of the season, 8-4.

Muller win clinches third victory for Card

Card in third heading into final round

SPORTS| With just one more round of play remaining at the Puerto Rico Classic tournament, the No. 2 Stanford men’s golf team places third with a score of 564 (12 under par). On day one, Stanford shot a team score of 285 (three under par) and on the second day shot a score of 279 (nine under par).
