A coalition of graduate and undergraduate students staged a large protest in front of Old Union yesterday in response to three recent campus issues: the tentative merger of language and literature departments into one, alleged underfunding of community centers and the University’s response to a recent series of hate crimes on campus.

With two non-conference wins already under its belt this week, the No. 3 Stanford softball team (41-5, 7-2 Pacific 10 Conference) heads to the southwest for a weekend against historical powerhouses No. 2 Arizona (44-4, 5-2) and No. 8 Arizona State (30-11, 5-3).
